PYRAMID MONOLITH of Mt.S.Martino near Piacenza/Italy
Two Italian journalists, Lorena Bianchi and Antonella Verdolino, have been studying the megalithic sites at Mt. San Martino near Piacenza in Val Chiarone for years.

Breathtaking Discoveries
A pyramid shaped sandstone monolith of enormous size 5x5x5m sits at the base of Mt. San Martino in a now cultivated vineyard. This gigantic monolith was without any doubt shaped by man into a four sided, square based pyramid. On its sides there are incisions of cup marks and lines, suggesting a deliberately produced image or sketch of astronomical significance.
The Italian journalists found out that the image on the monolith matches the star constellation of Cygnis (Swan) – of 13500 BC- when Cygnis was the polar star.
Who could have shaped the stone block? Who made the drawings? When and why?
Local legends narrate that the monolith fell off the mountain. Does it mean that the pyramid monolith was on top of the mountain? Could it have been the capstone of a larger pyramid?
Archaeological excavations brought to light that the area was inhabited since 25000BC by Cro-Magnon Man. Paleolithic settlements, burial places and cave sites at Mt. San Martino confirm this fact. Monoliths up to 10m size on the crest of Mt. San Martino give proof to the hypothesis of an ancient observatory on top of the mountain. The cup marks and lines on the pyramid monolith, interpreted by Bianchi/Verdolino as the star constellation of Cygnis, parallels the Povlen stone ball in Serbia with identical cup mark incisions. Mount S. Martino shows undeniable traces of human intervention:
1. monoliths up to 10m tall erected on the crest of the mountain,
2. cup marks+lines reproducing astronomic constellations,
3. staircases carved into the rock,
4. dispersed sandstone plates remaining after a cataclysm: originally perhaps a sanctuary or an astronomical observatory.
5. Thousands of caves are found in the area of Monte Aldone ("Wise Mount"),
6. Monte Aldone and 3 small pyramidal hills in west direction might be shaped by man.
CONCLUSION
IF...this pyramid shaped monolith was made around 13500BC, as suggested by the Italian researchers....it would mean that it is:
· the oldest use of the PYRAMID symbol in the world
· formed by Cro-Magnon people with outstanding mathematical/astronomical skills
· originating in Central Europe by an unknown culture or civilization.

The cult of the Swan and the pyramid monolith of Mt. S. Martino
The myth of the Swan: it deals with an aspect of the Mother Goddess, seen by the ancient people as Goddess Bird and revered as mother, healer, medium and bond between the material world and the stars.
In fact in the Indo-European mythology the celestial God Father lived among the stars, named Osiris by the Egyptians. The Goddess constituted a medium between the Sky and the Earth and she was represented in form of a bird simply because the birds are able to fly to heaven and also walk on earth.
The Goddess Bird Isis, in Egypt known as the consort of Osiris, was identified with a bird of prey or a white bird similar to the swan, the stork or the pelican. The swan was easily visible in the sky in the homonym constellation. It has the identical peculiarity of three lined up stars as the Orion constellation.
According to our hypothesis:
if Orion is in partnership to the stellar God (what in the area of Mt S. Martino is called Penn and has given the name to a lot of peaks, as well as to the Alps Pennine and the Appennins) the Goddess is the Swan.
The stellar map of the Pyramidal Megalith points toward the star Delta Cygni. This was the polar star when the map was presumebly sketched, 13550 BC. The meaning according to us is that of re-birth of the soul, of illumination: the evidence is the presence in the monolith of an enough big niche to contain a newborn, exactly positioned toward north in the middle of the holes that reproduce the figure of the Swan.
