PYRAMIDS OF SARDINIA

10 km from Sassari and 7 km before Porto Torres there is Monte d'Accodi ("mountain with tail"), where you can find a pyramidal structure of 9 metres height and almost 40x30 metres base; in the centre a ramp of 40 metres goes to the top where probably another building was standing. The construction dates circa 2800 B.C. This construction resembles nothing in the Mediterranean but more the ziggurat of Mesopotamia.
On both sides of the ramp there stands a menhir of over 4 metres and a square plate of limestone of about 3x3 metres placed on stones which forms an altar.
