Pyramids in Mallorca?
There is no written document, no study about pyramids in Mallorca.
Information on megaliths is provided by megalithic Mallorca
This information about pyramids in Mallorca was sent to me by a reader:
- The pyramid of Calviá… an artificial promontory of enormous size with step terraces.
- The pyramid of "Sa Punta d'en Amer".... stones taken as building material
- The sunken pyramid… under water near Islote de las ratas (Rat-Island).only 2m high, made of grey granite, covered with hieroglyphs and sunken with a spanish galera ship. Probably brought from Egypt as the top of a larger construction. Discovered in the 1950ies by underwater archaeologist Pepe Beltran.
- The lead pyramid of Alaró. The archaeologist Mascraó Passarius describes a mysterious find: when a stone built hill was opened a pyramid completely covered with lead plates became visible. It was covered with signs. Inside remains of a tomb were found.
I could not verify his claims. The only pyramid like construction I found on a study trip in 2009 was the one on the foto below.
